Rachel Mcgarry

I am a Canadian devotional chant artist and certified yoga teacher (ryt-1000) who has been actively teaching in London, Ontario since 2017. Like many in the west, I discovered my love of yoga first through physical practice, then meditation and chanting. My study of Bhakti yoga, the yoga of devotion, ignited my passion for devotional chant and mantra. It is through this practice where I connected my love for yoga with my love for music and singing. I have led kirtan concerts and yoga classes at the Toronto yoga conference, Bhakti in the woods yoga & music festival, the London and Peterborough yoga festivals and numerous private events and retreats.

As a yoga teacher, I am widely known for my deeply nourishing restorative yoga classes which feature my voice, original “lullabies for grown ups”, and sound healing with instruments to bring my students to a place of deep rest.

My debut album, songs for savasana (2019), is comprised of the lullabies I sing to my yoga students to help them turn inwards. My second album, she rises (may 2023), honours the divine feminine within each of us. I combine my love for devotional music and yoga to offer concerts, classes and workshops that nourish, inspire, and relax the mind, body and spirit. I specialize in kirtan, restorative yoga, goddess yoga, sacred singing sessions, sound healing and reiki.
