Lisa Pisano

My teaching is inspired by over 20 years of practice in various styles of yoga with Ashtanga and Power Yoga being the most consistent. I am a committed yoga student first and foremost. Practicing yoga is my passion, but teaching it has become my purpose and I follow it passionately.

My yoga journey began back in 2003 when I was pregnant with my son. I was told it would help with pregnancy and birth so I gave it a shot. I had a healthy pregnancy and birth so once my son was born, I dropped the prenatal yoga and went back to training hard at the gym in an effort to get my body back in shape. Two years later, I got pregnant with my daughter, signed up for the same prenatal yoga course because it seemed to have worked so well the first time, and then dropped it again after giving birth to her so I could get back into the gym.

Fast forward a few years, still a regular at the gym, I was noticing my stress levels at an all time high. There were some life changing events happening around this time, and I was feeling angry, frustrated and easily irritated almost all of the time. Although my body felt good after a workout, I was noticing that it wasn’t changing anything about how I was feeling on the inside. Enter hot yoga. I found this small yoga studio near my office and took a hot yoga noon class one day and that was it. I was hooked. I went back the next day, and the day after that and slowly found myself spending more time on my mat and less time picking up weights at the gym. Yoga was changing me. It was changing how I felt, both physically and emotionally. It was changing my outlook on life and I liked this new version of Lisa 2.0.

At the recommendation of one of my teachers, I signed up for my first yoga teacher training at Downward Dog Yoga Centre in Toronto and completed my 250hr YTT in 2013 and was teaching in my first studio before the end of that year. I have since participated in various workshops and retreats around the world to further my education as a yoga teacher. In 2021, I added another 200 hours of yoga teacher training through Power Yoga Canada and I teach at one of their studios as well as continuing to teach through my personal business.

It is through Power Yoga Canada that I met my co-pilot, Aneta, and together, with our similar passion and purpose to serve others and create memorable experiences and a community of love and support, we birthed SoulFULL Yoga and Wellness Retreats.
